This is the email I received last night from Richard White. Now let’s hope this really is the end of it.
“Dear Ms Elliott
This is an extremely difficult email to write and please, do with it as you will.
I’m quite sure that you will feel for any contrition from me is self-serving, but I do genuinely feel sorry for any hurt I have caused you and offer you a full apology. I’d never speak in ‘real life’ as I spoke on DSMO and it has taken this too see that.
I have said that DSMO was not intended as a tool with which to wound and this is true – it was simply a way to discuss matters but it developed into something else, over time. I think over my years on the net, the language used became the norm. This clearly does not excuse it, but perhaps it gives an insight into how it may have developed. It is also true that we considered shutting the site after the Savle scandal, but for one reason or another, we did not. This clearly does not excuse it, but perhaps it gives an insight into how it may have developed.
Once agan, I do wish you all the best and hope in time you can forgive me for my part in it all.
Richard White”

Does Richard White really believe all will be forgiven and forgotten now? I rather think he will find employment opportunities and relationships with women will vapourize now and well into the future. The internet never forgets.
Given the sheer joy RW has taken in his misogynist rants and his particular campaign against you up until now, I’m finding this change of heart suspicious to say the least. He was well and truly revealed for what he is by the Mary Beard incident and I can’t help but wonder if he’s now offering up these milque-toast apologies to anyone who’s ever been named on his hate-site before he’s hauled up again.
I wonder what he’ll be doing next and who will suffer as a consequence
I don’t see that as a sufficient apology. He’s obviously intelligent enough to articulate how sorry he is, but hasn’t shown any understanding of why he’s caused harm and offence. It’s basically how I would apologise when I was a child, and didn’t really understand how I’d upset someone. There isn’t any content in it.
