Film by Laura Connett
“A ten minute documentary examining a personal experience of partner rape revealing the wider implications of rape myths. In this country victims of rape and particularly acquaintance rape are routinely disbelieved, blamed and treated in an insensitive and humiliating way which makes them seem more like the person on trial. Most victims never gain justice.”

I was very pleased to note Womensgrid has promoted this very important documentary because its author/director/camera operator, Laura Connett wanted it to be widely circulated. I will be letting Laura know her documentary is receiving wide circulation. Laura contacted me, asking if I could assist her with circulating her work and I was very happy to assist in circulating details widely.
Laura Connett’s aim is to bring out of the closet the fact partner rape is not an isolated incident but is widespread and commonly occurs because the boyfriend/long term male sexual partner considers he has the innate right of sexual access to the female partner as and when he wishes.
