The point I was trying to make in my 1 minute 22 seconds on CiF this week, was that while Jacqui Smith’s expenses claim is indeed shocking, and while it’s now pretty clear to everyone that there needs to be an overhaul of the entire system of MPs expenses to stop them taking the piss and ripping off taxpayers’ money in the way they have been doing, the porn element of this story is also important.
By which I mean that it’s not something that should be brushed under the carpet, and it’s most certainly not a joke, especially when you consider the harm and exploitation that goes with it.
Did I mention that porn also helps perpetuate sexist attitudes?

To echo what Polly S said above, I don’t know how you put up with it either. It’s harrowing and intimidating. Even more depressing is that howsoonisnow got over a 1000 recommends. Howsoon’s torrid viewpoint shows once again how misogynists heap the ‘blame’, i.e. their own moral failings, upon women. If you followed the money, as he suggests, my bet is that it is the men in the industry who would ultimately be the winners. Yeah…jaw dropping I know.

I am really very very disappointed with the level of debate on that thread. I had comments cut for no good reason, one for apparently refusing to apologise to that arse Chris44. I felt no-one was listening to anything I was saying. I’m staying away from CIF until I’ve calmed down. Or until some more intelligent people start posting. Might be away for a while.
