Dressing up like this for instance:

Still, at least I wasn’t the only one:

Yep, that’s the UNISON contingent (a section of it anyway) at Saturday’s Put People First march for jobs, justice and climate.
And while I don’t normally go in for corporate branding, and I’ve never been a big fan of uniforms, I have to say, after standing around getting soaked to the skin and freezing bloody cold waiting 45 minutes for the coach to turn up at Chelmsford services to take us to the demo (note to whoever organised that – the words piss-up and brewery spring to mind) I was grateful for both the tabbard and the hat. They kept me warm, and on a cold wet Saturday in March keeping warm is a damn sight more important than looking kewl and hip.
That’s my excuse anyway, and I’m sticking to it.
I wish I’d got there early enough to carry one of these though:

Now that would have been fun!
All pics except the first one shamelessly pilfered from the UNISON G20 photo gallery.
“Still, at least I wasn’t the only one”
Always a bonus 🙂
Ya neeeded something waterproof though Cath. First rule of protesting, waterproofs.
The giant balloons are cool.
