Apparently we’re supposed to wear red this year, which I don’t have a problem with so long as I’m not expected to carry a red umbrella……
You might notice a few there though, Cath!
Red umbrellas have hidden meanings which is why I certainly will not be carrying one!
You might notice a few there though, Cath!
So, err, what’s your point? rhymes with pong.
Umbrellas are useless for keeping the rain off. You need proper waterproof clothing. Try North Face or Craghoppers…..
PS – hope there are no strangling incidents this year.
…..they’re very good value on eBay…..

Tong Pong give it up, you know we have rumbled you…
See you with your red brolly boyo tho’… in the John’s Parade. Got me camera ready.
3:30pm by the SW lion in Trafalgar Square OK? What colour brolly?
I know I constantly say that gender is a social construct, but isn’t David a funny name for a woman?
David Tong (aka Pumpboy) is not a woman and therefore is not invited to MillionWomenRise. He posts his pro legalisation of prostitution comments all the time on CIF as Gulfstream5. He is best ignored.
Actually it was just an ordinary bicycle pump, filled with ordinary Coca Cola…
Red? They come up with red?
Isn’t that what “the stranglers” were wearing last year? (ECP)
Yeah, hope to be there. Hope it is not as bloody freezing (wind) as last year.
Either purple or white are the ‘traditional’ colours for AVAW.
Anyway, I will rug up warm. Not sure WHY we have to hold ALL the women’s marches in bloody cold weather.
It might be warm by March S.
‘strangling’ incident? Dare I ask?
It was a freedom of speech issue. A guest speaker for the ECP, Teresa MacKay, was denied access to the platform after previously having been told she could speak. You can read a summary of her speech here and Cari Mitchell’s comment at 10:11pm here.
So naturally the response of the ECP was for one of their members to try and strangle someone.Cath was there and saw it I do believe.
I still think David’s a funny name for a woman. I’m so heteronormative.
…was denied access to the platform after previously having been told she could speak…
Don’t forgot the part you left out. She failed to submit her speech in time prior to the event. All speeches were required to be submitted by a deadline in order that they could be translated for sign language. The ECP failed to do this, yet all the other speakers managed it. Instead, the ECP lied – fucking lied – and maintained they were not allowed to speak because they were speaking on behalf of prostituted women. Such utter fucking bullshit.
Every time you supporters of the ECP and IUSW keep trotting out these lies, I will remind everybody of what a fucking liar MacKay and the ECP are.
Cath and I were fairly close to the incident when it kicked off, about 20 feet(?) away.
ECP = liars liars liars
Now fuck off Tong. Spread your poison and lies elsewhere.
Oh, and btw, if it was:
…a freedom of speech issue.
Then that makes the ECP ableist. They demand to speak regardless, and fuck the deaf?
*nice*
Come on pong. Defend the strangling.
I’ll help pong out:
Strangling is Free Speech.
If you don’t allow the ECP to strangle other women, you are not only *censoring* them, but against prostitutes themselves.
(Not that any of us are convinced that the ECP has or is run by any prostituted women, just as the IUSW is chock full of pimps and johns)
Furthermore: preventing people strangling other people is denying them agency. And making a moral judgement that strangling people is bad.
Many people find strangling pleasurable. And anyone who has been strangled and didn’t like it should shut the fuck up and stop ruining the fun stranglers have srangling, and allow stranglees to exercise their endless agency. Stop talking! You’re crushing my freedom of speech! You’re in my bedroom! Get out!
etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum.
Strangling is empowering?
The strangler is just exercising their agency to strangle?
Strangling is feminist* (*See 3rd Wave Rule #1; if a woman somewhere likes it, it is a feminist act)
Ah, the bestest one:
The stranglee is topping from the bottom, so we shouldn’t interfere with *strangle play* (even if it did occur outside the bedroom, on an innocent member of the crowd, who didn’t seem terribly consenting, and the cops, actual cops and not the mysterious radfem police, didn’t seem to see the fun and freedom of speech and agency in it).
David
Wrong. Teresa Mackay was invited as a rep for Ipswich Trades Council and as a rep for the trade union Unite (for whom she is now a full-time paid official). She is not a spokesperson for the ECP and never has been, her involvement with them was through the Safety First Coalition, set up in the wake of the Ipswich murders.
David
Lol. I think you mean you can read a heavily edited version of her speech, but not in fact the actual speech she submitted after time on the day itself.
All of which is entirely irrelevant anyway. There is no justification for the behaviour of the ECP strangler.
Many people DO find strangling pleasurable …. s’riously.
Yeah I know, I need to look at different parts of t’internetz. Some nice jumpers maybe.
And yes Stormy all that as well. NB it’s called ‘breath play’.
Gawd do I cringe every time someone uses the phrase “breath play”.
Perhaps it is due to the fact that I was indeed strangled and was mere seconds from death? Somehow it is not such a great turn-on. Oh, perhaps I am just being oversensitive??? Fuck you sickos.
I’ve been sticking with the nice jumpers. Yeah strangling people is not ‘play’. Auto erotic asphyxiation is extremely dangerous. Ask Stephen Milligan or (allegedly) Michael Hutchence. Oh you can’t – they’re dead.
Returning to the MWR march this year, I note we are meeting at Portman Sq, and ending at “Waterloo Place”. There seems to be nothing at Waterloo Place, and considering we did a good job of filling out Trafalgar Sq last year, why the change(s) to obscure (and smaller) locations?
What is going on???
Surely it will be bigger than last year?
I didn’t even realise about the change of location until today, when I was at a meeting and someone mentioned it.
I can only think that maybe they didn’t book Trafalgar Square in time, and that some other demo is taking place there.
Just checked online and found this – the British Humanist Association are having a rally there about opposing Sharia Law the same afternoon.
heres the video link again x
